2024 Presidential Election: Our Result Is The ‘Worst’ Since 1951 – NPP Stalwart

Former Energy Minister and a devout member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Agyarko has voiced his sentiments regarding the 2024 election results.

The New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia polled 4.877,611 representing 41.7% while the President John Dramani Mahama polled 6, 591, 790 representing 56.4% to win the election.

The result of the NPP is said to be the worst in Ghana’s election history under the 4th Republic but Boakye Agyarko says otherwise.

According to him, the NPP 2024 election result is rather the worst since 1951.

“In our tradition, this has been our worse results. I thought it was bad in 1956 but when I look at the 1956 results and the 2024 results, in proportionate terms, this will be our worst since 1951. So, let us not belittle what has happened to us”, he told Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” on Monday, January 27.
