You Need To Debate – Prof. Smart Sarpong To Bawumia, Mahama

Prof. Smart Sarpong, a research fellow at the Kumasi Technical University, has called on the presidential candidates of the New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress to engage in the controversial presidential debate.

The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NPP flagbearer, has thrown the challenge to former President John Mahama, NDC flagbearer, to set the record straight on their government’s achievements but the former President may not take up this challenge as his party leadership have refused to let him participate in the debate.

Contributing to Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Prof. Smart Sarpong urged Ex-President Mahama to reconsider his decision, stating “you need to debate”.

He opined that the debate will give Ghanaians the opportunity to know the truth regarding their track records, stressing “I wish, one day, the two leaders can agree to meet…I wish this debate comes on”.
