Why Curse Nana Addo For Bringing Development To Your Region? – Allotey Goes Wild On Volta Youth
Bernard Allotey Jacobs has descended heavily on a group of persons at Sokode in Ho municipality in Volta Region who invoked curses on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over an honor from the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).
The Council of UHAS announced a decision to honour the President with a doctorate for his contribution to STEM, Second-cycle education, and the development of UHAS.
But a youth group calling themselves “Concerned Volta Youth” chastised the University, hence summoning the spirit of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, who is said to have conceived the establishment of the University, to strike the President dead.
UHAS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lydia Aziato was not spared as the group pronounced similar curses on her as well.
“We heard that they are saying it was not you Prof Milss who established the University and that it was Akufo-Addo so they want to honour him. Prof. Mills, you led the establishment of the University. If today they are saying that you are not the one, I am handing them over to you to judge.
“When they set off for the honorary doctorate to be conferred on President Akufo-Addo for establishing the University, strike them dead before they get to this very spot.
Prof Lydia Aziato, the day you receive them, whoever is scheduled to speak at the ceremony should vomit blood when he gets to this very spot”, the leader of the group said.
This action incurred the wrath of the traditional leaders of the Sokode land who also performed counter-rituals to revoke the curses.
“This is our land and you need to ask permission before you perform any rituals here. The school belongs to the world. We the people of Sokode are not against anybody. Development is in phases. Some will construct schools, others will build roads, and others will build toilets and markets.
That is development. I am telling you whatever evil that they think will occur here, it will not. Sokode Paramountcy has cancelled everything”, the Dutor of Sokode Traditional Area, Togbe Awee Japhet Amoako stated.
Commenting on the issue during Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Allotey Jacobs rebuked the Volta youth saying the Region was, in terms of development, abandoned for years and it’s taken President Nana Addo to erect a magnificent edifice in the Region, therefore, if nothing else, he deserves praises.
“The Region has been neglected for a very long time…no development takes place there. Then, someone builds such 60 million huge buildings for UHAS, you say because he is going to be honored, you have cursed him…Someone, who from the bottom of his heart, has done such a thing there to generate employment, you say you have cursed him”, he emphasized.
