Going Independent Is Unnecessary…Come Back – NPP ‘Defected’ Members Told

Kwabena Agyepong

Kwabena Agyepong, a member of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team and former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party, has charged all aspirants of the party who lost their elections to remain loyal to the party.

According to him, the loss of an election shouldn’t turn a person against the party.

He made a solemn appeal to all those who have decided to go independent to reconsider their decision.

“Going independent doesn’t help. It’s unnecessary”, he said while speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show.

The longstanding member of the NPP stressed that the party following its internal conflicts which resulted from their presidential and parliamentary elections has recovered, hence the need for all and sundry to join forces together to ensure their flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia, wins the December 7 elections.

“There is a lot of healing in the party”, he stated and called for propriety in the body of politics in Ghana, specifically his political party.

He told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that he has decided that despite his failure to become the NPP flagbearer, “I will be an advocate for propriety in this country”.
