Dec 7: Nobody Can Rig The Elections – Prof. Osafo Claps Back At NDC
Professor Joseph Osafo has shared disbelief in the notion that the Electoral Commisison is planning to rig the December 7 elections.
The Senior Psychologist, speaking in relation to the National Democratic Congress’ threat to embark on demonstration against Electoral Commission (EC) citing irregularities in the voter’s register, doubted the possibility of the Commission to subvert the authority of the electorates.
The NDC has scheduled their protest on Tuesday, September 17.
According to the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, “we had a very good meeting with the regional Police bosses and the agreement is that we are going to proceed with our demonstration on the 17th of this month. And it’s going to happen not just in Greater Accra but in all the other Regions of the country at the same time.”
He continued; “We wanted to have a confirmation about the endpoint in terms of the route. We had an agreement that we are going to start from the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, proceed through Farisco Traffic Light through to TUC, continue through the Ministry and come all the way to Parliament and end up in front of the premises of the Electoral Commission.”
But to Prof. Osafo, it is highly unlikely for the EC to interrupt the elections to favor a party, hence called on the politicians to desist from inciting their supporters to wreak mayhem.
“Nobody will subvert Ghana’s supreme will. We are the ones going to vote and will vote accordingly”, he emphasized on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show.
