EC Forensic Audit: ‘Go To Court’ – Kabila Tells NDC

James Kwabena Bomfeh has condemned NDC’s protest held across the nation on Tuesday, September 17, against the Electoral Commission.

The National Democratic Congress requests the Electoral Commission to conduct what they call a “forensic audit” of the voter’s register.

They accuse the electoral supervisor of possessing a flawed register, hence, during the protest, demanded for the audit to be done by an independent body.

But James Kwabena Bomfeh says they should use legal means if they feel they have a genuine case.

According to him, the NDC’s call for an independent audit will not happen stressing “there has never been any audit of Electoral Commission’s voter register by any independent body in this country”.

Furthermore, Kabilla, as he is affectionately called, believed the NDC’s call has some undercurrents.

He said; “There is a foreign interest. They want to place their hands on a sensitive data of Electoral Commission for their ulterior motive. It won’t happen under the laws of Ghana. If any person feels the EC has contravened the law, let them go to court and prove it there.”

Hence, he charged them to “go to court” for the law to have its course.

He made these submissions on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show.
