The Dawn Of A New Day: Congratulations, H.E. John Dramani Mahama – Dr. Patrick Owusu Writes
As a nationalist and an intercessor for our beloved country and nations across the world, I am deeply delighted to witness the swearing-in of a new president of the Republic of Ghana.
Congratulations, H.E. JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA, PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA.
The task ahead of you is immense. However, remain calm, stay focused, and execute each plan with diligence and a high sense of purpose.
Your responsibilities are vast: selecting the right people to work with, ensuring your ministers are committed to supporting your vision to strengthen our nation, fulfilling your promises within the stipulated time, and resetting the nation as envisioned by your tagline. These are some of the assignments ahead of you.
Sir, keep your focus. Humanly speaking, you can not do everything, but you can achieve much to reunite the nation we all love, regardless of tribe or language. Our national identity is our pride.
At this time, many voices will echo in your ears with advice on what to do. Sir, you have served as president before, and today, with God’s support and the people’s will, you have been re-elected. You possess the experience and skill to lead Ghana into a new phase of prosperity.
Be sincere in your governance. Where challenges exceed your capacity, involve the right people to resolve them. Some of these open-minded individuals may come from different political affiliations. Relying on such selfless individuals can reinforce the national agenda we all desire. With that inclusivity, you will truly become a father to the nation.
For your success, there should be constant appraisals of your ministers to minimize corruption. Reshuffling or changing ministers from time to time should not be a concern; change brings fresh energy to revitalize struggling sectors. Where a change is necessary, allow the right timing to guide your decisions.
Sir, please focus on key areas such as health, education, business, and rebranding our economy. Build upon the efforts of your predecessors and make Ghana a beacon of hope for all.
I believe you are capable, provided you consistently remain focused on your mission.
As citizens of the nation, whether your party is in power or not, the greater issue is our collective responsibility to join hands in making Ghana stronger and greater. That is the essence of nationalism.
Inflammatory statements and apathy don’t build a better nation. Clean hearts and willing hands to work do.
Indeed, as citizens of this nation, we all have a role to play in easing governance. We must be truthful in our dealings with our fellow citizens. Selfishness and dishonest gains have short lifespans.
Selflessness and honesty make our lives better. If you love your fellow man, you wouldn’t intentionally sabotage their good efforts. We must be bold enough to confront ill-mannered citizens and correct behaviours to continuously make our society a better place to live.
We must be hardworking citizens, honest with ourselves, and dedicated to serving our nation in any capacity we find ourselves. So, do your part, and I will do mine. Together, we will raise the STAR of Ghana that shines brightly across the African continent.
LONG LIVE H.E. JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA!
LONG LIVE H.E. JANE NAANA OPOKU-AGYEMANG!
LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA!
THE TIME FOR PROGRESS IS NOW!
