What Authority Does ORAL Have To Damage People’s Reputations? – Kabilla Blasts Okudzeto Ablakwa & Co
James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly called “Kabilla”, has questioned the constitionality of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) comprising COP Kofi Boakye (rtd), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and others.
The ORAL is tasked to unearth the corrupt practices as well as corrupt officials of the erstwhile Akufo-Addo government.
After the introduction of ORAL, the members led by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa have been spotted at some places alleging State lands capture as well as attaching some people to corruption.
In view of the work of the ORAL, Kabilla seeks to find out what legal or constitutional authority backs them to make what he opines are unwarranted allegations against certain individuals.
“What authority do they have? Whoever they are, what is their authority? Is a Commission of Inquiry? What law binds them and if it is a Committee set up by the President, what Executive Instrument are they working under?…”Do they have the power to even invite anybody? Do they have the power to move about?”, he queried.
Kabilla further asked how they seek to repair the reputations they damage, asking “how are people going to repair the damage when it is proven that the allegations are untrue?”
James Kwabena Bomfeh, a former CPP General Secretary, made these submissions on Peace FM’s Wednesday edition of “Kokrokoo” show.
