Mass Dismissals: If Akufo-Addo Committed A Sin, Must You Do Same?; Is This Your Reset Agenda? – Collins Adomako-Mensah Blasts Mahama

Collins Adomako-Mensah, Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North

Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako-Mensah has rebuked President John Dramani Mahama and his officials together with critics who are justifying the recent termination of appointments and recruitments.

The Minority has likened President John Dramani Mahama to a “Terminator 1” over what they describe as mass dismissals of young Ghanaians from public sector jobs.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, March 3, former Minister for Finance Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam accused the Mahama administration of deliberately sacking employees to create vacancies for party loyalists.

“Ladies and gentlemen, it is now a notorious fact that, to create vacancies for the purpose of employing NDC youth, the Mahama administration has sacked thousands of young Ghanaians who had been properly employed by the previous administration.”

“The termination of the jobs of young Ghanaians, which has become synonymous with President Mahama—‘Terminator 1’—is a sign of what is yet to come. Sacking people from employment and replacing them later with others does not amount to job creation”, he remarked.

Commenting on the mass dismissals on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” panel discussion show, Collins Adomako-Mensah questioned Mahama’s reset agenda if the agenda is to blame Akufo-Addo while committing same mistakes of the past.

The MP wondered if the former President did nothing right for him to take the blame for everything when Mahama is in government because of his promises to make the Ghanaians’ lives better, only for him to come and sack thousands of them who had already been employed.

“Is this your reset agenda? Let’s take it that Akufo-Addo committed a grave sin, you told us during your campaign that you will reset the economy. The reset agenda is for you to justify that Akufo-Addo sacked someone in 2017, so you are doing the same thing in 2025 and even exascerbating the situation. Is that the reset agenda?”, he lambasted Mr. Mahama.
