We’ll Continuously Hit The Streets If… – NPP Youth Organizer Warns Mahama

Salam Mustapha, National Youth Organizer of New Patriotic Party

Salam Mustapha, the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a stern warning to the John Mahama government to honor its promises to the people of Ghana or else face the wrath of the NPP.

He recounted the President’s promises such as to cancel the Electronic Levy (E-Levy), betting tax and instigate other measures within 120 days of his (John Mahama) inception to advance the economy.

Salam Mustapha noted that the NPP and the citizenry are expecting the 2025 economic budget to be read on Tuesday, March 11, by the Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, to capture these promises.

The Finance Minister has disclosed the budget will reflect the living conditions of the ordinary Ghanaians, addressing their hardships head-on.

“Friends, We Just concluded an insightful engagement with market women, kayayei, and others at Makola Market. It was a privilege to interact with these hardworking Ghanaians who break their backs daily to support our economy. Their expectations ahead of #Budget2025 on Tuesday, March 11th will help shape our shared future. #Budget2025 #TogetherWeGrow #ResettingGhana”, Dr. Ato Forson said in his Facebook post.

Commenting during Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” panel discussion show, Salam emphasized that “the principles of democracy doesn’t countenance” lies, hence admonished the government to be serious with improving the lives of Ghanaians.

“We will take our papers, our notepads and pens and write copious notes and if we get to know that this budget won’t help Ghanaians, we will come out and say it…If within 120 days, we don’t see any changes with regards to the things they have promised to do, no, we will not allow such deception to continue…We will follow the budget and make sure they follow every promise they made”, he exclaimed.

The NPP National Youth Organizer warned that “if the NDC fails to deliver on its promises within 120 days, we will stage continuous demonstrations. In fact, we will go and picket the Flagstaff House. I will go with my gas cooker and mattress. I will cook indomie and sleep in front of the Flagstaff House”.
