Eschew Social Media Influence As It Destructs Your Academic Journey – PUG Vice Chancellor Tells Matriculants
The Vice Chancellor of Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG), Prof. John Ofosu- Anim has admonished new students admitted into the University to eschew social media influence stressing it destructs their academic journey.
He highlighted the negative effect of social media on the pursuit of academic excellence.
Prof. John Ofosu Anim has been speaking to the matriculants at the Akuapem Akropong when the University was admitting about 1830 new students for their 2024/2025 academic year.
This is to further their studies in their respective programs.
According to him, peer pressure through social media can shut one’s academic dreams and lead him or her in the way of destruction.
Prof. John Ofosu- Anim advised the matriculants to build their academic journey on excellence, commitment, integrity, discipline and faith in God.
Furthermore, he admonished the fresh students not to allow themselves to be negatively influenced by peer pressure on campus but be guided by the University’s principle.
Additionally, as part of advocacy to protecting the environment, the Vice Chancellor told the matriculants at the Faculty of Development Studies pursuing BSc. Environmental and Natural Resources Management to be agents of transformation.
