‘Arrest Those Sponsoring Bawku Conflict’ – Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah Charges National Security

Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah, Governance Analyst and a lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, has charged the National Security to clamp down on the people fueling the Bawku conflict.

Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Dr. Otchere-Ankrah noted that there are some actors sponsoring the conflict for their personal gains.

To him, those people must be fished out and arrested, stressing the Bawku conflict is “becoming unbecoming now. Everyday, you will hear this or that person has been killed, why?”

He wondered how the perpetrators gain access to guns and other offensive weapons without the help of sponsors.

He also slammed the parties involved in the conflict asking how they intend to make the community safe if the security personnel and other workers who provide essential services are evacuated from the area.

“How would you survive in the community?”, he fumed.

“It is not good!”, he expressed his disgust over the violent clashes at Bawku.

Dr. Otchere-Ankrah appealed to the security officers to use “brute force” to restore calm and stability in the Bawku area.
