AFCON: Fans Disappointed As Carpe Verde Beat Black Stars Mercilessly!

Ghanaian fans have expressed their resentments over the Black Stars first game with a fan telling Pulse Ghana that he is only supporting the national team because of his spirit of patriotism and a sense of nationalism.

The fan, who sounded very  distressed about the performance of the Ghanaian giants, expressed little to no hope of the Stars’ qualifying to the next stage of the tournament; however he pledged his support for the team no matter what becomes the fate of the Ghanaian side in the 2023 AFCON.

The Black Stars of Ghana, on Sunday, January 14, suffered a major setback with Cape Verde scoring the Ghanaian national team in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

The Stars clashed with Cape Verde in an exciting but fierce soccer match and found their dream of climbing the group’s ladder shattered with Cape Verde punishing the four-time African champions – the Black Stars – despite they dropping big names Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, Andre Ayew and  Inaki Williams which many soccer fans thought would intimidate the opponents.

It was Manchester United’s Bebe and Jovane Carbral that masterminded Cape Verde’s win, putting their team ahead of the Black Stars in the group stage.

The Cape Verdeans defeated the Stars in a 2-1 thriller; a joy for the Cape Verde fans and a great disappointment to the Ghanaian fans.

The Black Stars will go head-to-head with Egypt in their second group game but pressure mounts on the Stars as a defeat could mean the end of the road for Ghana.
