‘We’ve No Evidence Of Corruption Against Cecilia Dapaah’ – Special Prosecutor Quits

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has quit its investigations into the former Minister of Sanitation, Madam Cecilia Dapaah, over alleged corruption-related case.

Madam Cecilia Dapaah was dragged to court following her house helps thieving millions of money from her residence.

In August 2023, the OSP acted by freezing the former Minister’s bank accounts and confiscating $590000 and 2.73 million cedis from her residence after the news of theft of a substantial amount of cash in cedis and foreign currencies came into the spotlight.

But according to a statement released by the Special Prosecutor and sighted by Ghmessenger“after nearly seven months of extensive investigation by the OSP and a parallel inquiry by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States, no direct and immediate evidence of corruption has been found in the seized funds and frozen bank accounts linked to Ms. Dapaah and her associates”.

The OSP however suspects money laundering but indicated this case in not under their purview, hence has entirely transferred the investigation into the financial affairs and assets of Madam Cecilia Dapaah and her associates to the the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).
