Adwoa Safo Loses Dome-Kwabenya Seat To Fmr. Speaker’s Son

The incumbent Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Lawyer Sarah Adwoa Safo has lost her seat.

Lawyer Adwoa Safo was beaten in the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary election today by the son of former Speaker of Parliament and the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Mike Oquaye Jnr.

Mike Oquaye Jnr floored Adwoa Safo with over 700 votes difference.

He polled 1194 of the votes cast while Adwoa Safo got 328 and Sheela Oppong came third with 186 votes.

The New Patriotic Party held its parliamentary election at the constituencies with sitting Members of Parliament on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
