I’ll Never Disrespect Alan Kyerematen…Stop Spreading Lies About Me – Sefa Kayi Warns Alan’s Team

Broadcaster Kwami Sefa Kayi has cleared the air about a social media post telling the public the government and the ruling New Patriotic Party had suppressed an interview that he was supposedly to have with the leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.
Mr. Sefa Kayi, host of Ghana’s leading morning show “Kokrokoo” aired on Peace FM, on Monday, February 5, issued a stern warning to the camp of Alan Kyerematen cautioning his whisperers to be careful of the misinformation they are feeding him with.
On Wednesday, February 7, seasoned journalist, Kweku Baako compelled Sefa Kayi, affectionately called “Chairman General”, to set the record straight as he (Baako) was worried about the viral post purporting the Presenter was influenced by some powerful hands to cancel the interview.
Breaking his silence over what actually transpired between him and Alan’s team, Mr. Sefa Kayi narrated he received a call from the Alan’s camp during the time he had taken a break from hosting the show.

According to him, the caller wanted to arrange for an interview with him for Alan Kyerematen but he (Sefa Kayi) informed the caller that he wasn’t available as the show was being run by his sit-in host, Nana Yaw Kesseh.
He therefore noted that it was when he resumed work on February 5 that he saw the report given to Alan Kyerematen which was that the government had coerced him to abort the interview.
This information, he stated, was being circulated on social media which called for his attention and subsequent warning to the team to refrain from such action as he stressed that they should tell the man (Alan) the truth.
“Let me state for the record, nobody has denied Mr. Alan Kyerematen from coming to speak at Peace FM. Those of you who work for Alan Kyerematen, do not lie to him. Don’t tell lies to him about why he didn’t come here today…He is an elderly person, don’t go telling stories to create disaffection for some of us”, he said on the Monday edition of Kokrokoo.
Reacting to the issue today, Sefa Kayi disclosed that when he got a wind of what was being told to Alan, he directed his producer to send the right message across to him saying “call them and rectify this anomaly because it is not true and it’s not right. It’s not even fair to Alan; that’s all I said”.
He stressed there was never an interview scheduled for Alan Kyerematen and that his handlers are just trying to court disaffection between him and the ex-NPP presidential aspirant.
“…I’m like Alan Kyerematen is not a kid. That is what I said on air. He is an elderly man, experienced and living his life. The fact that someone disagrees with him politically doesn’t mean we should tarnish his image. You can’t do that; you can’t do that and there is no way that I knowing Alan and who he is that I would disrespect him. It is not in my DNA”, he explained.
“He wasn’t scheduled to be on the show”, he emphasized, asking “that I will agree to do a program and then cancel it. Who can influence me to cancel a program?”
