Be The 1st To Let Your Sons & Daughters Have Same-Sex Marriage In Ghana…Let’s See What Happens Next! – CDD Board Chair Scolded

Prof. Audrey Gadzekpo

Charles Owusu has blasted the Board Chairperson of the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) over her protest against the passage of the anti-LGBTQ+ bill.

As the bill awaits presidential assent, the CDD Board Chair, Professor Audrey Gadzekpo has threatened to take legal action against the President should he assent to it.

The anti-LGBTQ+ bill, passed by Parliament, makes it criminal for any person to promote, advocate or practice homosexuality in Ghana.

Any person found guilty will face a minimum jail sentence of 6 months to 5 years.

But the CDD Board Chair describes this punishment as inhumane and appeals to the President saying he should respect human rights by rethinking his final decision.

Charles Owusu, speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show on Friday, March 1, fired salvoes at Prof. Gadzekpo asking her which part of Ghana’s culture supports same-sex relationships.

He questioned why a woman of her pedigree could even contemplate defending what he termed as an abominable practice in the nation.

The independent parliamentary candidate for Nkoranza North dared Prof. Gadzekpo to test the wrath of Ghanaians by being the first to give her children into same-sex marriage in Ghana.

“This woman has a husband. I don’t know her children. I know other people speaking against this bill who have husbands and wives. They also have sons and daughters. They should be the first people to come out publicly and allow their sons and daughters to hold same-sex marriage and we will see how they will do that in this country”, he fumed.
