‘There Was Too Much Backbiting And I Was Treated Like I Didn’t Matter’ – Berla Mundi On Why She Left GhOne TV

Media personality, Berla Mundi has opened up on why she exited GhOne TV to join TV3.

Berla Mundi, telling an inspiring story about her journey in the media space, revealed how she was mistreated at GhOne TV which compelled her to move and pursue a more challenging career in her field of work.

She told a gathering that she believes her transition from hosting an entertainment programme to hosting a diversity of shows on TV3 was an orchestration by God to showcase her to the world.

She believed Media General, her current employer, has made a significant impact in her life as they stretched her to be the best version of herself.

“I’m going to talk about the part of my life that was very difficult for me but that was what led me to what I have become today…So, latter part of my days at GhOne, things had become very tough. I felt like I had grown to a certain limit and the platform could not offer me what I wanted anymore but I was afraid to make that bold step to leave and that was because my whole journey as a broadcast journalist had started with GhOne…so from the inception up until that point in life, I felt like I owed the company [you know] something, a favor or my career…

“I was looking for a way to move because things had become very difficult. I just wasn’t finding myself in that space anymore being it relating with people, the work I was doing…I had to cry. There were guests who would walk into the building and they will find me crying…The backbiting started; there were a lot of accusations here and there. There were people who were treating me like I didn’t matter”, she disclosed.
