Cancel E-Levy Now, Not When You’re President – Mahama Tells Bawumia
Ex-President and flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama has asked the Vice President of the Republic and presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to walk his talk now that he is in government.
Mr. Mahama, addressing the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) in a meeting, touched on some policies declared by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to implement if elected as President of Ghana.
Speaking in relation to Dr. Bawumia’s promise to cancel the Electronic Levy (E-Levy) and introduce tax reforms to ease the economic pressures on Ghanaians, the former President admonished the Vice President to implement his plans to benefit Ghanaians now and not wait till he becomes President.
“Tell Bawumia to eliminate the E-Levy and other taxes now, not later”, Mahama said.
