‘Dumsor’ Will Soon Be A Thing Of The Past – Bawumia Assures

Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has assured Ghanaians that the power challenges they are currently facing will soon be over.

Speaking to the Clergy and Imams in Akropong on Monday, April 29, during his campaign tour of the Eastern Region, Dr. Bawumia acknowledge the power crisis, locally referred to as “dumsor”, but was optimistic the authorities are working around the clock to resolve it as soon as possible and bring relief to Ghanaians.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has come under intense public agitations over the irregular power supply across the nation.

The citizens have called for a power schedule to guide them in their daily activities but the State power distributor has refused to heed the call, claiming the power crisis is as a result of a localized fault which they are handling.

At the Eastern Regional tour, Dr. Bawumia stated; “I know there are challenges and I don’t want to paper over economic challenges. We are going to work on them. Currently, we have issues with power but I say that from the information I have received from the minister for energy, those power challenges will very soon, and I mean very soon be a thing of the past.”
