Court Grants Hopeson Adorye GH¢20k Bail
Hopeson Adorye, a member of Movement for Change, arrested on a charge of publication of false news has been granted bail.
Hopeson Adorye was arraigned before the Dansoman Circuit Court in Accra on Thursday, May 23, after his arrest on Wednesday, May 22.
The arrest was made due to claims he made in an interview on Onua TV that he had orchestrated the detonation of a dynamite along the borders of Togo during the 2016 general elections.
The court presided by Halimah El-Alawa Abdul-Baasit granted him GH¢20,000 bail with two sureties.
Hopeson Adorye has pleaded not guilty to the charge and is represented by seven lawyers led by Yaw Buaben Asamoa.
