I’ll Make Ghanaian Galamsey Operators ‘Professional Gold Miners’ – Cheddar

Nana Kwame Bediako, the leader of the New Force, says he will adopt an industrial strategy to address the illegal mining (galamsey) in Ghana.

According to him, he will ensure his government ends galamsey.

In an interview with broadcaster Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo”, Nana Kwame Bediako a.k.a Cheddar pledged to drive all the Chinese galamsey operators from Ghana and utilize the Ghanaians doing it to make the gold sector boom for Ghana.

He bemoaned the activities of the Chinese miners saying what they are doing is poisonous to Ghanaians and the growth of the nation, therefore they will be “the first people I will remove from the system”.

“The silos have destroyed our water bodies and the same water is feeding the ground…It is poisoning our crops and it is going to affect us and the nation and the government haven’t been able to restrict or stop them. So, they (Chinese) will be the first people I will remove from the system…but the local people who are Ghanaians, I would like to employ all of them”, he expounded.

After flushing out the Chinese, he stressed he will use the Ghanaians “galamseyers and make them professional gold miners in the country and bring them together as one union, create wealth and create jobs but be able to get my reserves for the nation”.
