The Minority in Parliament has bid President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice President goodbye during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) today.

The President delivered his nation address in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution which mandates him to address Ghanaians at the beginning and close of the every parliamentary session.

After touching on his government’s achievements and giving updates what they intend to further do to better the lives of Ghanaians, the Minority Leader, Cassiel Ato Forson, who was to second the motion for subsequent debate on the SONA, seized the moment to jab the President and the Veep.

“A vote for Alhaji Bawumia is a vote President Akufo-Addo’s 3rd term…Ghanaians voted for Vice President and are paying for the Vice President to support you to succeed. Mr. Speaker, the President cannot fail alone. So, Mr. President, you have failed with your Vice President”, he hollered.

Speaking on behalf of the Minority Caucus, he expressed disappointment in President Akufo-Addo for not touching on the unemployment situation in the country.

He therefore cautioned the nation against voting for the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who seeks to succeed his boss as Ghana’s next President.

“Ghanaians will not miss President Akufo-Addo and Alhaji Bawumia. We can only wish you bye, bye but you will never be missed”, Hon. Ato Forson admonished.
