Adum Market Fire: Giving 200,000 Cedis And 1000 Cement Bags Is A Very Admirable Gesture – Atik Commends Bawumia

Socio-economic analyst, Atik Mohammed has hailed former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for donating 1000 bags of cement and Ghc 200,000 to victims of the Adum market fire and towards reconstruction of the market.

Several shops at the central business district in Kumasi were burnt as a result of a raging fire outbreak on Friday, March 21.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Tuesday, March 25, visited the scene and in commiserating with the affected traders, made the donation to them.

Commenting on the incident during Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Atik Mohammed described Bawumia’s gesture as admirable and hoped other politicians would replicate it.

“Let’s all contribute our bits to see how we can do the reconstruction. So, I applaud Dr. Bawumia, it was actually a very admirable gesture that he displayed yesterday and I expect a lot more politicians and corporate Ghana to follow suit”, he said.
