Akufo-Addo Leaves Behind A Much Better Economy For Mahama
The Akufo-Addo administration leaves office next week with a positive economic outlook.
Notwithstanding the devastating economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the macro-economy under President Akufo-Addo has performed better than the erstwhile John Mahama’s regime.
According to the Ministry of Finance and Bank of Ghana data, the outgoing government has better record in 10 out of 13 key macroeconomic indicators.
In 2016 when John Mahama was leaving office, the economy grew at a GDP rate of 3.9% but Ghana’s economy presently has attained 7.2% GDP growth rate under the leadership of President Nana Addo.
The Akufo-Addo government leaves behind a better agriculture growth, industry growth, per capita income, budget deficit, primary balance, trade balance, gross international reserves and cumulative exchange rate depreciation.
