Ambulance Purchase Trial: What Useful Thing Can The Supreme Court Justice Tell Us After Meeting A-G, Jakpa In His Home? – Kwesi Pratt

Kwesi Pratt has slammed the Supreme Court Justice said to have hosted the Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, and the third accused person in the ambulance purchase trial in his home in a supposed plea bargain negotiation.

Pressure mounts on the Attorney-General to resign following allegations by Richard Jakpa, a third accused in the ambulance purchase trial, that the A-G approached him to help build a case against the Minority Leader and former Deputy Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson.

“A-G has on several occasions engaged me at odd hours to help him make a case against A1 and I have evidence for that. If he pushes me, I will open the Pandora’s box”.

“I don’t understand why the A-G will accuse me of defending A1 when I’m here to defend myself”, Jakpa is quoted as saying in court.

But according to Mr. Godfred Dame’s Spokesperson, Isaac Wilberforce Mensah, the Attorney General did nothing wrong explaining that Mr. Dame met only with Richard Jakpa at the pre-negotiation stage which was held in the Supreme Court Justice’s home because Jakpa did not have a legal representative.

The name of the Justice has been revealed by the National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Henry Nana Boakye, as Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi; according to a myjoyonline publication.

Tackling the matter during a panel discussion on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Kwesi Pratt wondered why the Justice would allow for the parties to meet him in his home.

To him, this meeting may potentially undermine the ambulance purchase trial.

The seasoned journalist sought to find out what will be the Judge’s posture on the case should it transcend the High Court to the Supreme Court.

“If a Judge of the Supreme Court whilst the case is still at the High Court calls the Attorney-General and his cousin to meet in his home, so what useful thing will this Judge tell us should the matter come to the Supreme Court”, he lambasted the Judge.
