Are You Part Of NPP? – John Boadu Blasts Alan For ‘Attacking’ Kufour

John Boadu

John Boadu has taken a swipe at the leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen over his remarks about former President John Agyekum Kufour’s endorsement of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to be elected Ghana’s next President.

Former President Kufuor, in an interview on Sunday, November 17, encouraged Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Bawumia, describing him as the most suitable leader for Ghana.

“Considering the present global context, I genuinely believe that Ghana’s economy would witness substantial growth if Bawumia were elected as President.”

“With divine guidance, he is more than capable of fulfilling this promise, and I urge you to back his candidacy.”

“I have observed his remarkable economic skills during my presidency when he was an essential part of the Bank of Ghana’s team under Governor Dr Paul Acquah, helping to stabilize the national currency”, Kufuor stated.

But Alan Kyerematen, in a reply, said Mr. Kufour is venturing into dangerous territory.

He said; “Kufuor is my uncle and I hesitate to publicly criticize him.”

“However, his endorsement has cast a significant shadow over his political career. Have you noticed how his comments have sparked negative reactions and criticism from the public?”

“He has long been a respected figure in Ghana, so why would he choose to involve himself in partisan politics in this manner? His actions are regrettable, and he is venturing into dangerous territory.”

John Boadu, Director-General for the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) and  a former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, couldn’t fathom the basis for Alan’s criticisms.

“What is basis for all those tantrums?”, he quizzed.

He wondered how Alan expects Kufour to back him against Dr. Bawumia who leads his party.

“Are a member of our party? Are you with us?”, John Boadu questioned the logic behind Alan’s fury at Ex-President Kufour.
