Bawumia Continues To Shake The North With His Riveting Campaign Messages
Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign momentum in the Northern part of Ghana is on the rise following highly successful engagements in the Upper East Region in the past few days.
In the past weeks, Dr. Bawumia has pitched camp in the North, engaging with diverse stakeholders including traditional leaders, religious leaders and the youth in the North East, Northern, Savannah and Upper West Regions with huge crowds welcoming him.
On the last lap of his Northern tour in the Upper East Region which began last Friday, Dr. Bawumia was given a warm reception from mammoth crowds in Bawku, Garu Tempane, Pusiga, Talensi, Nabdam, Chiana Paga, Bolga and Navrongo.
In each of these constituencies and holding a community connect with the youth, the gathering has shown massive love and support to the Vice President and NPP presidential candidate by defying rains to stay with him.
Dr. Bawumia has also tailored his messages to meet the expectations of his different audiences, telling them of the massive development projects in the five Northern Regions under the NPP regime.
In each constituency, he lists a number of projects the government has undertaken in the area since 2017 to demonstrate how the NPP has kept faith with the people.
Dr. Bawumia further highlights the NDC and their flagbearer, John Mahama’s neglect of the North in terms of development to remind the people of the bad treatment they experienced while Mahama was President.
Some of the failures of the Mahama administration he outlines are their SADA project which was a complete fiasco and the blatant corruption that characterized the previous government.
Dr. Bawumia is the first Northerner to be elected leader of the New Patriotic Party in a major election and for the first time, both the leading candidates for the two main political parties are from the North.
This makes the 2024 election historic as Dr. Bawumia has made significant inroads in what the NDC considered their safe grounds.
