Bawumia’s Early Concession Of Defeat Is ‘Unprecedented’ – Kabilla
James Kwabena Bomfeh has hailed the Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his early concession of defeat in the just-ended general elections.
Polling over 4 million votes while his opponent John Mahama garnered over 6 million, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, before the Electoral Commission’s declaration of the victor in the elections, came out to concede defeat.
This act has earned him a big applause from many Ghanaians as they praise him for upholding the peace of Ghana.
“The people of Ghana have spoken. The people have voted for change at this time, and we respect that decision with all humility”, Dr. Bawumia said in his speech.
Commenting during Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, James Kwabena Bomfeh a.k.a Kabilla eulogized Dr. Bawumia saying “Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has taught us something that is unprecedented in our history books under this Fourth Republic. The first time that the losing candidate conceded within the period he did ahead of election declaration by the Electoral Commission…It’s unprecedented”.
He also advised the New Patriotic Party to use this occasion of their defeat to reflect and regroup the party for 2028.
“This time is a period for you to reflect, rethink and refocus”, Kabilla remarked.
