Cape Coast Airport Is Very Relevant For Tourism – NPP Gen. Sec Defends Bawumia

Constructing an airport in Cape Coast is very relevant, Justin Frimpong Koduah, NPP General Secretary, has justified his party’s presidential candidate’s promise in their 2024 manifesto.
The party launching their manifesto in a colorful ceremony held at GSTS at Takoradi assured Ghanaians of several interventions they intend to introduce to enhance the development of Ghana in their quest to break the 8-year governance cycle.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia seeks to continue the reign of the New Patriotic Party and has outlined his policies for the years ahead which include building an airport in Cape Coast in the Central Region.
But some people find this a waste of the national purse.
The critics argue the money for the airport could be used to do something else to benefit the nation.
Reacting to the criticisms, Justin Frimpong Koduah, in an interview on Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo”, sees the project of enormous value to the nation.
He explained that Cape Coast is a tourism hub of the country, so an airport will facilitate the commute of especially foreign tourists and Ghanaians who may due to exigencies have need for a flight to the Region.
“We feel it’s very relevant, as a nation, for Cape Coast to get its own airport. For me, apart from that, we have to reach a stage where we will upgrade it into an international airport”, he maintained.
