Chef Faila Ends Guinness World ‘Cook-a-Thon’ Record With Unbeatable 227 Hours
Ghanaian chef Failatu Abdul-Razak has successfully ended her Guinness World “cook-a-thon” record attempt after 10 days in the kitchen.
The Ghanaian chef undertook this task to set a new world record for the longest cooking marathon.
The event that was held at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale in the Northern Region saw Chef Faila, as popularly known, cooking over 100 meals.
It also brought people from all walks of life to the venue amidst cultural displays and thrilling musical performances coupled with amazing dance moves while the patrons treated themselves to the delicious meals cooked by the chef.
She was overwhelmed with emotions as she completed her attempt.
She intended to beat the official 119-hour record set by Alan Fisher but ended up doing a rather astounding 227 hours after realizing a Ugandan chef named Dorcus Mirembe, popularly known as Mama D, had cooked for 144 hours and is awaiting Guinness World Records’ validation.
Chef Faila has achieved this remarkable feat that has attracted praises with many people believing it will be challenging for any person to attempt to break her mark.
The achievement was met by joyful noises at the venue as the stopwatch hit the 227th hour on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Chef Failatu Abdul Razak started her cook-a-thon challenge on the Eve of New Year to break the current longest cooking marathon record.
