Compare Mahama And Bawumia’s Performances, Bawumia ‘Stands Tall’ – JFK
Justin Frimpong Koduah, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has thrown a challenge to Ex-President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress to compare their track record with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s to ascertain their performances in government.
In an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s flagship programme “Kokrokoo” on Tuesday, August 20, Justin Frimpong Koduah touched on the party’s 2024 manifesto which their flagbearer launched during a ceremony held at GSTS in Takoradi, Western Region.
He highlighted some major policies that the New Patriotic Party under the leadership of Dr. Bawumia would do to better the lives of Ghanaians if given power to lead the nation in 2025.
Among the many things that Dr. Bawumia will do which include tax reforms, business incentives, reforms in the licensing regime for the small-scale mining sector, reduction of the Minerals Export Tax to 1% to discourage gold smuggling and a credit score system, the NPP General Secretary believed Vice President Bawumia “stands tall” so far as the track records of Vice Presidents in Ghana are concerned.
This notwithstanding, he acknowledged the current economic state of Ghanaians saying “we admit both the good and bad because we can’t accept only the good and leave the bad. Dr. Bawumia is a part of this government. We won’t separate him”, but, he stressed, “when you weigh the good and bad of Mr. Mahama and Dr. Bawumia, still Dr. Bawumia stands tall”.
Justin Koduah touted some achievements of Dr. Bawumia as Vice President, listing his Mobile Money Interoperability initiative and other social interventions, hence he has no doubts the Vice President is a very competent leader and will be a great President for Ghana.
“Even as Vice President, when we talk about digitalization today, digital address system, Bawumia’s name will be mentioned. We can also talk of the medical drone system which delivers medicines across the nation and, currently, 2400 hospital facilities benefit from it”, he emphasized.
