Dec 7 Elections: Something Can Happen If SDA Members Don’t Vote – Kabilla Warns

Former CPP General Secretary and a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church, James Kwabena Bomfeh alias Kabilla has issued a stern warning to the Electoral Commission over the date of the elections this year.

James Kwabena Bomfeh strictly backed his church’s decision not to participate in the elections if the Commission doesn’t change December 7 which falls on Saturday, the Sabbath Day of the church.

The Sabbath Day is the SDA’s sacred day and, to them, December 7 is a breach of their religious faith, hence Kabilla calls on the Commission to review the time for the election since it is final that the election will be held on Saturday.

To Kabilla, should the EC fail to make room for the Adventists, “something can happen”.

“If the State fails to accommodate, encourage and promote us, something can happen…I, as a student of democracy, the last thing that any State should do is to allow anything that will discourage the slightest or minutest minority from participating in that election”, he said on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show.
