Democracy Hub Demo: Thank You IGP For The Professionalism Of Your Officers
Former NDC Central Regional Chairman, Bernard Allotey Jacobs has hailed the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and his officers for restraining themselves despite provocation from the Democracy Hub protesters.
The demonstrators who thronged the 37 Military Hospital confronted the Police resulting in the arrest of some of them.
Their leader, Oliver Baker-Vormawor, was arrested after he forcibly removed the keys to a Police vehicle, speeding off and throwing it away.
Allotey Jacobs, commenting on the misbehavior of the protesters, was full of praise for the IGP and his men for not engaging in brutalities.
“The professionalism displayed, I haven’t seen it before. For the first time in Ghana Police adminstration and Police crises management, you will never see anything like this. We know what happened at Ejura and many other places where Police are involved in brutalities but nothing of such sort happened” in this current demonstration, he remarked on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show.
He further commended the Police administration for resorting to rule of law, stressing “this is what we want for Ghana…It is law that controls a nation and not individuals”.
