Does Mahama Want To Steal Ghana? – Amansie South DCE Queries

Lawyer Clement Opoku Gyamfi, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie South District, has lampooned Ex-President and NDC flagbearer, John Mahama’s appeal to reset the nation.
John Mahama, delivering a speech during his party’s 2024 Manifesto Launch on Saturday, August 24, said; “Tomorrow, we take the first step towards resetting our dear nation Ghana. We face challenges that have held us back for too long but now it’s time to build the Ghana we all want together…Tomorrow, we begin the journey together.”
Tackling this statement, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia replied; “What this country needs is an upgrade, not reset. And if given the mandate, I will roll out the measures outlined in our recently launched manifesto to revamp the economy”.
“I represent the future, and Ghana needs an upgrade, not a reset”, Dr. Bawumia added during his media engagement at Kempinski Hotel on Sunday, August 25.
Reacting to Mr. Mahama’s comment, Lawyer Opoku Gyamfi, affectionately called “CID”, questioned the meaning and significance of resetting Ghana.
Likening it to a phone’s factory reset which erases virtually every important item including apps, the DCE asked; “Does John Mahama want to steal Ghana?”
To him, Mahama’s proposal is confusing, stressing he together with members of his party, the National Democratic Congress, even find it difficult explaining this concept.
“Are we resetting to the colonial days because those were the days Ghana was being formed or to the era of the Aborigines Rights Protection or to the era of the 1968 riot? How are you really going to do that?”, he further questioned during Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo”.
