Don’t Spare Any Akufo-Addo ‘Corrupt’ Official – Dr. George Domfeh Backs Mahama

Development Economist, George Domfeh has backed the Mahama administration to clamp down on officials of the Akufo-Addo government associated with any act of financial misappropriation.
The Attorney General, Dominic Ayine, days ago held a press briefing and revealed a criminal scheme that was undertaken by former Deputy Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Gifty Oware-Mensah, and other persons in which they are said to have padded figures at the Authority.
Gifty Oware-Mensah has been accused of masterminding a 30 million loan fraud using falsified identities and a fraudulent company.
The Attorney General, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, while addressing the press on Friday, June 13, 2025, disclosed that Oware-Mensah orchestrated a complex financial scheme targeting the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB).
“Gifty Oware-Mensah created and executed a meticulously detailed plan using National Service allowances as security to obtain a loan of GH¢30,698,218 from the ADB.”
“She achieved this by using other people’s information to register a company called Blocks of Life Consult without their knowledge,” the AG said.
He explained how Gifty Oware-Mensah allegedly carried out her criminal activity saying “she presented Blocks of Life Consult through a middleman and used her husband to act as one of the representatives of the said company”.
He added that the bogus company was then introduced to the bank as a service provider for National Service personnel.
“She told ADB that the company specialises in supplying home appliances to NSS personnel and proposed that ADB finance the company to enable it to supply these items on a higher purchase basis to the service personnel,” Dr. Ayine intimated.
Madam Oware-Mensah is not the only one in hot water but also the former boss of Ghana’s National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu-Boahene and his wife who are also cited for laundering over GHS 49 million in state funds, according to the State prosecutor.
Speaking in relation to the ongoing cases before the Attorney General, Dr. George Domfeh asked the government not to spare any individual who engaged in any form of corruption under the Akufo-Addo era.
“Every person of the previous government who have squandered our money, the laws should deal with him because corruption is the reason for our stagnation. Corruption is the reason for the country lagging behind….The laws should deal with every person who has stolen or steals even 1 cedi”, he exclaimed on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” panel discussion show.
