Dozen Illegal Miners Killed In Violent Clash With Soldiers At Obuasi


Dozens of illegal miners have been killed in a violent clash with Military officers in Obuasi, Ashanti Region.

Eyewitnesses recount that the incident occurred as many illegal miners entered one of the Anglogold Ashanti mine shafts.

The invaders were said to have been confronted by heavily armed military personnel assigned to provide security for the mining operation.

The soldiers reportedly asked them to exit the facility but the intruders refused causing the officers to release gunshots to disperse them.

Over 20 people reportedly lost their lives in the incident that happened Sunday dawn with many others sustaining serious injuries.
