Driver’s Licence Renewal To Be Extended From 2 Years To 10 – Bawumia Pledges

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has promised to extend the duration for renewal of driver’s licence to ten years.
The New Patriotic Party presidential candidate, delivering a speech at his campaign tour at Akwatia in the Eastern Region, noted that the two-year duration for renewing the licence is inconveniencing, hence proposed what he believes is a better option.
“We are all drivers and our driver’s licences expire every two years, is that not the case? Unless you go to the DVLA to renew it, why?”, he questioned and pledged to effect a change if elected to lead Ghana as President next year saying “we are saying let’s extend it, eight years, ten years. Let’s make sure we can have the driver’s licence without having to go to renew it every year; it doesn’t make sense”.
