Dumsor: ECG To Finally Release Load-Shedding Timetable
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will soon release a load-shedding timetable to guide their customers in the wake of the power crises.
This was released by the Chairman of Parliament’s Mines and Energy Committee, Samuel Atta Akyea, following a meeting with the ECG.
Hon. Samuel Atta Akyea has disclosed that the Committee has engaged with the Electricity Company of Ghana to address the “dumsor” problem, referring to the power outages.
According to him, they pointed out to the electricity supplier the significance of the timetable, assuring the public that the Committee will monitor the ECG to do the needful.
“The conversations we’ve had so far are very good, some of the technical challenges relating to fuel and the rest of it may be tackled. If there’s under-generation, which there has been an admission, then we should do everything in our power to make sure that we generate enough power.”
“I think the Committee was very strong on the matter that if there are power outages, those who are enjoying should know when it’ll be available, and then they plan their lives around the timetable they’ll furnish them with”, he told the press after a meeting with stakeholders in the power industry on Sunday, April 7.
He emphasized; “They are going to do it and we’ll do everything in our power to monitor them.”
