ECG Containers ‘Retrieved’ At Port: ‘A Container Isn’t Like Powder To Blow Away’ – Dennis Miracles Blasts Energy Minister

Dennis Miracles Aboagye

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a former presidential staffer, has slammed the Minister of Energy, John Jinapor, over the controversial missing containers claim.

According to the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, the committee investigating the missing containers belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has traced 2,637 containers at the port.

In March 2025, the Ministry reported that about 1,300 ECG containers were unaccounted for with only 40 recovered at the time.

The updated figure of over 2000 which is more than double the number initially reported to have gone missing has reignited public debate.

Discussing the matter on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Dennis Miracles blasted the Minister for first reporting that the containers had gone missing and now telling Ghanaians a different story.

To him, the Minister creating the impression that the containers have been retrieved is deception.

“A container is not like powder for the wind to blow it away. You can steal anything but not a container…I knew from day 1 that there was no iota of truth in the missing containers claim”, he argued.

He stressed the Minister hasn’t “retrieved anything because the thing was at the port. The thing hadn’t gone missing; you can only retrieve something that is lost”.

He also reprimanded John Jinapor wondering why the latter isn’t using the energy he used to break the missing containers news to push the updated story as well.
