Elect Leaders ‘Hungry For Power’ To Bring Us Back In 2028 – NPP Delegates Told

“All is not lost for New Patriotic Party”, Collins Owusu Amankwah, on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show Wednesday morning, has encouraged the members and supporters of his party.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) was mercilessly whipped during the 2024 general elections with Ghanaians voting massively for the opposition National Democratic Congress led by John Dramani Mahama back into power.

Mr. John Dramani Mahama was sworn in as President of the Republic on January 7, 2025 marking his second term on the presidential throne.

The President’s comeback saw him poll over 6 million votes representing 57 percent while his main contender, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia garnered 4.6 million representing 41 percent.

The NPP, after the December 7 polls last year, set up a Committee to engage in a postmortem evaluation of their defeat and the Committee has presented their findings to the party’s leadership to guide them in their quest to regain power in 2028.

Collins Owusu Amankwah was confident the NPP will bounce back but called on the delegates to elect strong and resilient leaders in their next internal elections.

“Vote for people who are hungry for power”, he appealed.
