‘Enough Is Enough’ – Fmr. Education Ministry PRO Condemns NDC ‘Thuggery’
Former Public Relations Officer of the Education Ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng has condemned the vandalism going on involving some members and supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
About 8 persons, Sunday dawn, lost their lives in a violent clash with some military personnel guarding AngloGold Ashanti.
The mining company was reportedly besieged by some illegal miners who were prevented by the Military as they sought entry into the company’s mine shaft.
Reports indicate a confrontation between the miners and soldiers resulted in a shootout resulting in the death of some of the invaders with others sustaining serious injuries.
Following the incident, the President, John Dramani Mahama has called for a thorough investigation and also instructed AngloGold Ashanti “to bear the medical expenses of the injured individuals fully” and “to facilitate the burial arrangements” of the deceased.
Commenting on the incident during Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show, Kwasi Kwarteng found the behavior of the NDC supporters very disturbing and rebuked them stressing they should desist from such illegal acts.
Mr. Kwarteng recounted similar incidents where some supporters invaded storage facilities and undertook various acts of hooliganism after the 2024 elections and blamed it on the leadership of the National Democratic Congress.
To him, the party leadership should have called their supporters to order but refused to address them, hence escalatimg into the clash with the Military resulting in deaths.
“At least, they should protect the good will they have or else it looks like people are getting even fed up of this”, he stated.
Kwasi Kwarteng cautioned the NDC against the current happenings exclaiming “enough is enough!”
