Free SHS Is ‘Single Biggest Social Intervention’ After Ghana’s Independence – NAPO

NPP Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has applauded the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over his Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

The Akufo-Addo government introduced Free SHS to give all Ghanaian children equal access to quality education at the secondary level.

This is the flagship programme of the government since 2017.

In an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on “Kokrokoo” on Peace FM, Dr. Opoku Prempeh, widely referred to as “NAPO”, described Free SHS as the “single biggest social intervention” after Ghana’s independence.

“The single biggest social intervention policy a government has made in this country called Ghana is Free SHS.”

Since it was under his leadership as Education Minister that Free SHS was implemented, NAPO noted that this policy has hugely benefited Ghanaians as, contrary to opposing views, it has produced quality students and lessened the burden on parents and guardians.

He urged Ghanaians to elect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lead Ghana as President in 2025.
