Galamsey Is A Very Clear Evidence That All Govts Have Failed – Nana Ohene Ntow

Nana Ohene Ntow has bemoaned the attitude of successive governments towards the fight of galamsey.

Galamsey is a perennial problem affecting Ghana’s economy as it destroys the water bodies and environment.

Nonetheless, galamsey operators seem to have a leeway in conducting their activities as little to nothing is done to stop them outright.

Touching on the issue during Peace FM’s Monday edition of “Kokrokoo” show, Nana Ohene Ntow, a devotee of Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change, blamed the Akufo-Addo administration and previous governments for this canker.

“Galamsey is a very clear evidence that governments have failed…The problem of Ghana is the human being”, he said.

He wondered why all governments have failed to nip it in the bud, thereby feared the dangers of this menace on people and the economy.

“If care is not taken, we will import water to drink in Ghana. If we import medicines, machines and things we can’t manufacture and will have to import drinking water as well, it is a very huge failure of governance at the highest level. It is the failure of policy…and that our collective future is endangered simply because of galamsey”, he said.
