Galamsey: Politicians Must Come Clean – Kokofu

Henry Kwabena Kokofu, former Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has charged his colleague politicians to abstain from encouraging illegal mining in Ghana.

The leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party, speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, urged those interested in mining business to engage in responsible mining.

He called for an end to illegal mining, popularly referred to as “galamsey”, stressing those involved in responsible mining do not touch the water bodies.

Henry Kokofu cautioned politicians to stop stimulating the galamseyers.

“We, the politicians, must come clean. While you are working hard to prevent it, then your colleague will stimulating them saying I will let you continue it if you vote for me”, he stated.
