Ghana Is A ‘Laggard’ Technology-wise…I Support Bawumia To Cancel E-Levy – Atik

Atik Mohammed has backed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s promise to cancel E-Levy under his Presidency.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a part of his manifesto, has pledged to abolish this electronic tax because it is a burden on Ghanaians.

Commenting on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show, Atik Mohammed hailed the Vice President for this move stressing E-Levy is a disincentive to Ghana’s technological journey.

“If you want to promote technology adoption, I mean Ghana is very far from the frontier. Ghana is a laggard when it comes to technology adoption. We are late adopters. So, if we want to make people understand that we are in the technology age and era, you don’t place a tax on things that can discourage”, he told host Kwam Sefa Kayi.

Also to alleviate the plight of the citizens, the NPP flagbearer outlined various policies he intends to implement if elected President in the December elections and reiterated them during the NPP 2024 Manifesto Launch at GSTS in Takoradi.
