Ghanaians ‘Angry’ Over Use Of Baba Yara Sports Stadium For Church Service
Some Ghanaians have vented their spleen on the National Sports Authority’s (NSA) for renting out the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for a church programme.
The NSA gave the stadium which is currently Ghana’s only CAF-approved venue for international matches for a 5-day church event.
The aggrieved citizens express their disappointment over the look of the stadium after the event.
They complain bitterly that the pitch has been left unprotected and potentially damaged and therefore call on the Authority to ensure maintenance of the stadium is their top priority.
However, in response to the public backlash, the NSA in Ashanti Region says; “We have a robust plan, a crack field, and a maintenance team to recover the pitch and restore the facility in general in record time throughout August. Stakeholders can rest assured.”
