Ghanaians Have Spoken And Voted For Change – Bawumia Concedes Defeat

The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has  conceded defeat in the 2024 general elections.

In a public broadcast from his residence hours after collation of results, Dr. Bawuima acknowledged the victory of his opponent.

He also thanked Ghanaians for the opportunity to serve as a Vice President and presidential candidate.

“The people of Ghana have spoken. The people have voted for change at this time, and we respect that decision with all humility.”

“It is important that the world investor community continues to believe in the peaceful and democratic character of Ghana. These are our most important assets.”

“We put our best foot forward in the contest, explaining our policies and programs. However, it is sometimes the case that the voter would have other ideas”, Dr. Bawumia remarked.

The Vice President further pledged to give the yet-to-be declared President-elect of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, saying “I want to assure the people of Ghana and the former President now the president-elect of my full support”.
