‘God Told Me To Divorce My Husband’ – Ohemaa Mercy

Ghanaian gospel musician, Ohemaa Mercy has shocked her fans and the nation following revelations into her crippled marriage.

Ohemaa Mercy, for the first time, has opened up on her divorce with her husband after rumors about the two going their separate ways spread years ago.

The veteran artiste, in a recent interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, stated that she was led by God to divorce her husband, Isaac Twum-Ampofo, who she had been with before her fame and rise in ministry.

According to her, God told her to divorce after she prayed to Him concerning her decision.

She noted that she came to a mutual and peaceful agreement with Mr. Twum-Ampofo to go their separate ways.

“I didn’t just get up one day and decide to divorce my husband. I took it to God in prayer. I was committed to doing the Lord’s work and I knew marriage was somewhat going to hinder it. So I sought His permission and approval before deciding to divorce him”, Ohemaa Mercy disclosed.

According to her, she told her husband, after receiving confirmation from God, that “I really want us to have a break and then, I need to run with the ministry and I know that is your passion for me. Let me run with it; let’s take care of the kids and help each other. If I am going through something, we talk about it. Let’s take care of the kids and then, I don’t want to fail God”.
