I Pray Rain Falls On December 7 For EC To Postpone Elections – Kabilla

James Kwabena Bomfeh, a staunch member of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church, has prayed God to interrupt the December presidential and parliamentary elections.

Mr. Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly called “Kabilla”, though not being emphatic on God to disrupt the elections, gave a tentative wish for rain to fall on the day of the election.

This, he lightly said, to provide SDA members the opportunity to participate in this year’s polls as holding the elections on December 7 which falls on Saturday, their Sabbath Day, will disenfranchise them.

The SDA strongly believes in keeping their Sabbath Day sacred, hence have been calling for a change in the election date but the Electoral Commission says this year’s election date remains the same.

The SDA proposal, according to the election supervisor, will be considered after this year.

Kabilla, speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, hope for the election to be postponed.

“It is not late yet. God can cause changes on 7th December for us to vote on a different day. Do you know the Electoral Commission, by the law, [they] can postpone elections if there’s too much rain? How can you vote if the EC is not able to transport their materials?”, he said.
